Introduction
InsightAsia has been
conducting qualitative research across Asia since 1997. We have in-house
specialist qualitative research teams in all our offices. Each team is headed
by a qualitative research director with significant international experience in
qualitative research with global research agencies.
Our lead markets
typically conduct about 600 focus groups a year, as well as significant numbers
of in-depth interviews and in home immersions. This work is done in Asia’s
sophisticated urban centers as well as in secondary towns and remote villages,
giving our qualitative teams a unique on the ground perspective on local
consumer needs, behavior and aspirations.

multinational companies and local conglomerates in the B2C and B2B arenas.
Repeat clients who have worked with us consistently
for the past 8 years, include Cadbury Schweppes, Coca-Cola, Danone, DiGi,
Nestle, and Unilever.
A significant proportion of our quantitative work is
from FMCG companies. We also have solid experience
in Telecommunications, Banking and Finance, Automobiles, and Employee and Corporate
HR studies.
Our social research specialists in Thailand
and Indonesia
have significant experience in managing qualitative projects for major aid and
funding agencies, as well as non government organizations.
Our reregional
qualitative team based in Singapore
regularly designs and manages multi country projects across the region.
The team has solid
experience designing and leading pan Asian qualitative studies working with
partner qualitative agencies in markets where we do not have our own offices.
In the past year, we have designed and led multiple studies in Vietnam, Philippines,
KSA, Sri Lanka, India, Japan
and New Zealand.

We have excellent in house discussion rooms and viewing facilities in all
our offices.
Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand
have two in house discussion rooms with two way mirror viewing facilities.
These facilities can each seat up to 12 clients comfortably. Our Singapore and Shanghai offices have one discussion room and
viewing facility in house.
In Singapore and Malaysia
we offer high speed web links, so if clients wish to they can watch focus
groups live on their own desk top, anywhere in the world.
We regularly conduct
focus groups and interviews beyond our own offices. In secondary towns we
typically hire appropriate hotel facilities and create a video link up. In
remote villages we use either a respondent’s home or local community facility. |

| We are not ‘model’ led, instead we focus on the issues our clients need
to address and customize our research design to ensure we are able
to provide clear and actionable answers. Our research designs typically utilize
focus groups and in depth interview methods, but also go further, often
incorporating pre tasking exercises by respondents, desk research, target
observations, accompanied shopping and integrating client workshops before and
during the research process. |

Insight – diagnostic deep dive for
brand audits, brand strategy & brand positioning development. Also used for
due diligence.
Insight
Innovation Lab – facilitating workshops
with consumer sessions integrated, to assist client fast track idea generation
and evolvement

Concept Lab – workshops with consumer
sessions integrated, to assist client’s fast track concept development and
fine-tuning ready for quantitative validation.
Target
Immersions – half day to one day
observations & interviewing in the home, accompanied shopping in
stores, in their fridge and cupboards. Includes filming respondents, taking
pictures and observing them at work, cooking, cleaning, changing diapers,
feeding the kids, eating and washing & ironing clothes…!
Concept
Gestalt and Evolvement – for new
product or line extension idea assessment, or positioning development
Sensory Dives – to elicit important sensorial
cues and sensorial vocabulary and identify emotive sensory cues. Usually a
precursor to quantitative sensory research product profiling exercises led by
the Sensory Insight team.
Advertising
Development – for spotting potent
creative ideas to progress, & identifying ways to optimize communication
effectiveness
Design
Clinics - with design opinion leaders,
to set the horizon for design innovation, typically in the fast moving mobile
telecommunications space.

We have no problem
working with agencies who simply want to hire our facilities and use our local
moderation expertise.
When providing
recruitment and moderation services only, we try to ensure you feel like you
are working with your very own agency and team. We can assist you with your
hotel bookings, travel arrangements, & local client coordination and
provide any on the ground support you may require. |
