InsightAsia has its own field infrastructure with national coverage in all markets, supported by in-house data entry teams. 

We run large tracking studies around the region.  Indonesia is typical - a national sample of 2,000 every month. 

We also conduct a significant and growing volume of fieldwork for global and regional research players without facilities and fieldwork teams in our markets.  Global agencies that have used us on a repeat basis for their fieldwork for at least the past three years include:

Standardized Field Operations System 

The scale of our continuous quantitative tracking studies and regular national surveys involving national random samples requires a robust and solid operational backbone, especially given the geographical challenges of Asia. 

To ensure consistent quality in field and data processing we apply our standardized proprietary operations system (WaP) across all InsightAsia offices. The WaP System strives to achieve quality at all levels and in all areas of operations execution and management by defining standard procedures for the three main areas of our operations and management:

Operations Infrastructure

In each market we have our own in house field management, field quality control and data processing teams. 

We have central location testing space in all our offices which can be utilized for product tests, advertising tests and CAPI interviewing and CATI stations.
 

Field Quality Control 

Our field management consists of national field managers, supervisors and team leaders all of who work exclusively for InsightAsia. 

We have field interviewer teams in all markets that are experienced, freelancers, many of whom have been working with InsightAsia on a repeat basis for several years. 

  • In Indonesia, we have 5 field offices; Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Semarang, Medan, led InsightAsia field supervisors. All report into our National Field Management & Quality Assurance team based in Jakarta. We have a freelance field strength of @1,000 interviewers, this enables continuous national field coverage. 
  • In Malaysia, we have 4 field offices; Kuala Lumpur, Johor Baru, Penang & Kuantan each led by an InsightAsia field supervisors who report into our National field management and quality assurance team in KL. We have freelance field strength of @400 interviewers.                                                     
  • In Thailand, we have 4 field offices: Bangkok, Chinagmai, Khon Kaen, Hatt Yai, each led by an InsightAsia Field supervisors who reports into our National field management and quality assurance team in Bangkok. We have freelance field strength of @ 400 interviewers.                                                     
  • In China, we have 4 field offices, managed by our field partners: Shanghai, Bejing, Hangzhou, NingBo. InsightAsia National Field Manager based in our Shanghai office directs all field management though our partners and is responsible for ensuring compliance with quality standards and independent field auditing. We have a freelance field strength of @800 interviewers. 
  • In our Regional head office in Singapore, our Regional Operations Director,  leads all field operations regionally and is responsible for ensuring compliance with our standardized field operations system (WaP) across markets. He is supported by our permanent Field Operations Manager in Singapore who looks after all local field management needs. We have a regular team of @50 interviewers who we work with on a regular basis.

To ensure quality control and compliance in fieldwork: 

  • We provide each individual with the knowledge and skills needed for his job-function through the combination of Initial training, on-going training, and refresher training.
  • We promote quality awareness through:
    Quality Self-checks - checks on specific work areas on a weekly basis.
    Quality Surveillance - executive level checks done on a monthly basis.
    Quality Audits - management audits, both internal and external.

  • We ensure that: 

10% of interviews in every study are witnessed by a supervisor and/or team leader
20% of each interviewer’s work is back checked post interview
5% of questionnaires in each study are randomly selected for external auditing

  •  We maintain strict control over the quality of data processing through:     
Permanent data entry teams in all markets to manage all data entry and processing in-house
Strict checks to minimise data entry errors (we use QPS analysis software):

  • The project executive checks the first 20 sheets per coder
  • At least 10% of the total sheets coded per coder are checked
  • 100% data cleaning
  • 100% progress specs and data table checking
